iPad art

This is a new direction since buying an iPad (after drooling and deliberation). The app used is Brushes. Its such a great way to lay colour down quickly and the emphasis is on colour as its so brilliant at all the subtle choices and changes in tone and hue. I've chosen not to try and be super realistic, but rather work with the colour side of it and try to be simple in style, working instinctively.
Here's the Brushes site:

Hi Janey,
I'm glad you like them. They took quite a while, about as long as a normal painting though. What Brushes has which painting old style doesn't is a way of getting colours spot on without getting cross with spoiled paint and mangled brushes. At first it can be quite faffy switching between menus and the painting, but it doesn't take long to get used to; they've kept it as simple as possible. I managed to find a way to export it to 6x the size of ipad screen. so these pics can be printed out at 40x60cm without any photoshop work.

If you can afford it, buy it. Although, I bet you're enjoying the sweet agonising about the decision. That's the anticipation part. I'm addicted to the Art jigsaw app at the moment, loads of lovely images by famous artists, and its so relaxing.
